KOPA 40YEARS 

 AEL were a run of the mill club watching from the 2nd Division KLN,Omonia,

Salamis win the big trophies until Mr 'AEL' Chris Georgiou decided he wanted

his club to be winners and so he appointed Andy Fellahoudi from Olympiakos

in 1985 to begin the biggest domination ever seen in KOPA.AEL were promoted as KOPA legend Nick Kyprianou joined the fold helping Andy sign the greatest players in KOPA,the semi-pros,ex pros all came to help AEL dominate KOPA like no other club before.AEL stormed to the title in 1987 to start a run of 4 record titles 88,89,90,it was awesome as teams were beaten with fear in the dressing room before the whistle in the most competitive era in KOPA.AEL but for the Omonia of Jimmy Cattle would have made it a fabulous 7 titles in a row,AEL 

just like the great KLN won all their titles with the same core of greats players. AEL won the 1990 LFA Challenge Cup bringing kudos back to Kopa and making the late stages of the FA All England.AEL broke all KOPA records in impregnable fashion until Nick Shakali arguably the best ever player in KOPA left signalling the end of an era.Mr 'AEL' Chris Georgiou saw the writing was on the wall as

he watched the championship AEL owned go back to Salamis,Omonia and KLN.

Chris Georgiou decided to call it a day in KOPA and folded AEL in 1996 but the opinion  of Kopa's greatest most respected admit nobody will ever match the 

AEL title dominance taking into account the era they ruled over and the calibre

of competition they were up against.
