KOPA 40YEARS 

KLN is one of the greatest ever Cypriot clubs with a grand legacy.

KLN were formed in 1953 and the success began in the 1960s into the 1970s,1980s,1990s.KLN were the first club to dominate KOPA

from the late 1970s into the 1980s with Kopa legend Jimmy Cattle reigning supreme as the greatest players in KOPA arrived to don the famous KLN shirt,the club was at the height of its powers winning 

4 titles in 1979,1982,1984,1986 and 2 Challenge Cups 1981,1983 in

the greatest era in KOPA history led by its greatest ever player Panny Vrahimi along with KLN greats like Mario Athanasiou,Chris Georgiou Robert Sees,Tony Loizi,Paul Sees,Tony Waugh,Andro Theodosiou and supreme Willy Mcknamana who left KLN for Cyprus in probably the most successful career a Kopa player had spanning 10 years with Evagoras and Pezoporikos,KLN but for rivals Anorthosis would have totally dominated just like AEL,its down to opinion but many Greats rate the first 10 years in Kopa a touch superior with the amount of great managers and great teams that challenged making the KLN 

honours even more admirable.The great Jimmy Cattle in this period

was also all conquering Mixth League manager as KLN players made up the core of the Kopa winning lnter league Cups.Jimmy Cattle left after 9 memorable years as KLN could only watch the great AEL take over their mantle.KLN then struggled for years until the ex Anemos star George Ioannou arrived and began a big era of success putting 

together a top team winning the 1995 Divisional Cup which was the springboard to become Kopa champions once again 1996,it remains the last time they were truly great,KLN was a club that symbolised Cypriot football for many years but lost its greatness a long time ago,the historic KLN name though will live on forever even if they never return to their former glories.
